ABOUT:
DuPage Friends of Extension presents the annual Brunch at Ball Gardens to support programs by the University of Illinois Extension throughout DuPage County. Brunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Extension's Master Gardeners will give tours and answer horticultural questions until 3 p.m. in the famous Ball Horticultural Company gardens.

ABOUT:
Cosley Zoo's seventh annual Cosley Uncorked benefit is a celebration of wine, with hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and musical entertainment by Diva Montell. Guests stroll the zoo and sample from 40 wines at the tasting event. Also planned are a raffle and giveaways.

ABOUT:
The first shot at the Civil War battle of Gettysburg was fired by Marcellus Jones of Danby, now known as Glen Ellyn. Leading historian Marshall Krolick will delve into the story of Jones and the Illinois regiment in which he served as an officer. The event is offered by the Glen Ellyn Historical Society. Jones, who died in 1900, is buried in Wheaton.

ABOUT:
The 41st annual La Grange Craft Fair expands to 200 tents with one-of-a-kind arts and crafts by Midwest artisans. The show's wares range from baby gifts and florals to pet accessories, mosaic birdbaths, sports photography, turned wood, clothing, home decor and jewelry. Vintage Alley has been added, showcasing vintage, repurposed and antique items.

ABOUT:
Elmhurst Knights of Columbus will debut the first annual Classic Car Show. It's a family-friendly fundraiser for the organization's operations and charitable activities, and will feature food, drinks, and music by Dennis "Big Bopper" Secara, along with up to 100 cars ranging from vintage to new.
