CARY – Cary resident Daniel Raudebaugh won $250,000 off a scratch card he bought at a Chicago gas station, the Illinois Lottery announced Thursday.
Raudebaugh, 69, has lived in Cary for 25 years and works in the construction industry.
He purchased the $5 "Lucky Loot" ticket on his way home from work when he stopped to fill up his car with gas at Mobil at 1234 N. Halsted St. in Chicago, according to a release from Illinois Lottery.
Raudebaugh said he plans to use some of the money to pay his bills and save the rest.
The gas station will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Three of the four $250,000 prizes associated with the new "Lucky Loot" card have not yet been claimed, the lottery said.
