Amy Singer
Amy Singer

St. Charles resident Amy Singer, 54, was at Baker Memorial Methodist Church in St. Charles with Michelle Thompson and Caroline Morris of Geneva when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Elgin

Pets? An Australian cattle dog named Kallie and two golden retrievers named Garfield and Odie, and some fish, but they don’t have names.

Who would play you in the
movie of your life? Jennifer Garner

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A special education teacher, and I became that.

First job? Baskin-Robbins

A book you’d recommend? “The Poisonwood Bible” by Barbara Kingsolver

Favorite charity? My charity, The Joshua Tree Community, for mildly developmentally disabled adults. We are here for the farmer’s market today.

Words of wisdom? And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Favorite ice cream flavor?
Chocolate mint

Favorite local restaurant? The Geneva Diner

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I am the eighth of nine children.
