LEMONT – Lemont High School will take on Disney Channel's tale of star-crossed lovers and high school social circles as they perform "High School Musical" through May 13.
The musical focuses on Troy and Gabriella – characters made famous by Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens – and their classmates at East High School as they deal with first love and expectations from friends and family while trying to balance class and extracurricular activities.
Based on the Disney Channel original movie written by Peter Barsocchini, "High School Musical" debuted during a Disney Theatrical Tour in 2007, according to a Lemont High School news release.
