JOLIET – The Joliet Public Library has announced plans for Star Wars Day on June 3.
The free event will run 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Joliet.
The day will begin with a parade of costumed Star Wars characters. Other activities include games, live music, movie prop exhibits and more.
Thousands of Star Wars fans, many in costume, typically come to the event, which is in its eighth year.
Activity is centered at the Joliet Public Library, 150 N. Ottawa St., and the Joliet Area Historical Museum, 204 N. Ottawa St.
The Rialto Square Theatre also will be part of Star Wars Day this year, making its main stage available for potential Jedi master training.
Star Wars authors John Jackson Miller and Keith Ryan Kappel will return. Several artists will attend, including Dave Dorman, Steve Palencia, Mikey Babinski, James Tampa and Jamie Snell.
