A lot of that was due to patient yet accurate passing, especially by Cohen, who had nine of her team’s 17 assists. Carli added four assists while Raquel LaPonte had four steals and two assists.
“I think we just passed the ball around fast and we moved around, so it created opportunities for the guards to shoot,” Cohen said. “We’ve been working on getting open shots in practice and I think that’s what created the opportunities for all of us to score.”
And it wasn’t just the guards who were shooting well. Bair, a 6-foot-2 junior, buried a trio of treys in the second half and finished with a game-high 20 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Ally Daca added 10 points, including a swish on her only 3-point attempt.
