New Trier will be the favorite to win state but LT is heavily favored to get a trophy of some sort for the third straight year.
“It’s pretty big,” Claesson said. “This program has never really seen anything like that and I think what we have been able to do as a team has really shown a lot about how well we swim together and how well we practice together.”
Like LT, Hinsdale Central advanced all three relays. The Red Devils' 200 free relay of Brandon Glowniak, Cole Grosshans, Billy Leader and Donovan Lahmann and the 400 free squad of Glowniak, Thomas Willemse, Grosshans and Lahmann set pool records of 1:24.59 and 3:08.27, respectively.
Also setting pool records were Grosshans in the 50 free (21.04) and Lahmann in the100 free (46.58). York’s Branko Kosanovich qualified in the 100 butterfly and100 backstroke.
