More than 330 people packed the house at FitzGerald’s Nightclub in Berwyn for Catholic Charities' St. Patrick’s Day Celebration on March 8.
The night raised more than $59,000 in its fight to end homelessness in the western suburbs, according to an event news release.
The event featured entertainment by the McNulty Irish Dancers, the Shannon Rovers and members of the Irish Musicians Association of Chicago.
FitzGerald’s Nightclub owner Bill FitzGerald and his family were honored at the celebration after hosting the event for 10 years.
The event began in 2004, and it previously was held at Molly Malone’s in Forest Park. But as the event grew, it needed a larger space, the release stated.
In the past 10 years, the event has raised more than $400,000, which roughly equates to 120 families taken out of homelessness or risk of homelessness, according to the release.
