LA GRANGE – The fourth annual Run for 102 Race to the Finish will kick off at 8:30 a.m. April 29 in La Grange and travel through a residential area of La Grange Park.
The 5K and 1-mile fun run is open to the community and supported by a variety of local sponsors and runner registrations, with the proceeds benefiting the parent-teacher groups of Barnsdale Road, Congress Park, Cossitt Avenue, Forest Road, Ogden Avenue and Park Junior High schools, according to a La Grange School District 102 news release.
The start and finish line will be at Ogden Avenue School in La Grange.
Race registration can be found at runfor102.org. Online registration closes April 25. Registration forms also can be submitted during packet pickup from noon to 5 p.m. April 27 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 at Gemini Gymnastics Academy in La Grange. Race day registration will be available from 7:30 to 8 a.m. near the start/finish line.
Volunteers are a critical element that make the Run for 102 successful, the release stated. To learn about volunteering, visit runfor102.org. A variety of volunteer roles and time slots are still available.
At the end of the race, medals are awarded in each school grade and top male and female categories, according to the release. All fun run 1-mile finishers will receive a commemorative medal. The awards ceremony will take place immediately following the event at about 9:45 a.m.
