WeatherTech commercial films in downtown La Grange

LA GRANGE – Residents will see some unusual action May 15 and 16 in downtown La Grange, as the area serves as the setting for a WeatherTech commercial.

Portions of the production will require the use of a water truck and sprinklers to create rain and fans to create wind, according to a filming notice from Chicago-based Radar Studios.

Filming will affect parking, but all businesses will remain open during the filming. It is expected to go from about 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.

On May 15, there will be no parking from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the east side of La Grange Road from Harris Avenue to 75 S. La Grange Road. Rain and wind effects will be used from 6 to 11 a.m. near La Grange Village Hall.

Parking restrictions will expand May 16.

There will be no parking from 6 a.m. to noon on the south side of Harris Avenue from Madison Avenue to La Grange Road and on the north side of Harris Avenue from Madison Avenue to 3 W. Harris Ave.

Harris Avenue from Madison Avenue to La Grange Road will be closed from 9 to 11 a.m. There will be intermittent traffic control along Harris Avenue by police between 6 and 11 a.m.

The north portion of Parking Lot 8 will be sectioned off for the parking of an aerial boom lift. The rest of the lot will remain open.

There will be no parking from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the south side of Burlington Avenue from Ashland Avenue to 24 W. Burlington Ave. to allow for trucks and equipment staging. All exterior filming will take place between noon and 3 p.m. The remaining filming will be interior.

Anyone with questions or concerns about the filming can contact the village of La Grange at 708-579-2315.
