Police Reports: Elmhurst for June 1

Information in Police Reports is obtained from the Elmhurst Police Department. Individuals in Police Reports who have been charged with a crime have not been proved guilty in court.

Animal neglect

An abandoned female Pomeranian dog was reported at 6:48 p.m. May 24in the parking lot of Petco, 199 S. Route 83. The dog was taken to the DuPage Animal Hospital.

Battery

• A battery reportedly occurred at 7:30 a.m. May 23 at York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.

• Sergio G. Hernandez-Garcia, 19, of the 100 block of Bridget Court, Bensenville, was charged at 12:20 p.m. May 4 with battery at York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road.

• An incident involving domestic battery was reported at 6:30 p.m. May 21 in the 600 block of Bryan Street.

Burglary

• A purse reportedly was stolen between 8:50 and 8:54 a.m. May 24 from a vehicle parked in the parking lot at KinderCare, 556 W. North Ave.

A black bag reportedly was stolen between 10 and 11 a.m. May 25 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of North Robert T. Palmer Drive.

• Three unlocked vehicles reportedly were entered between 11 p.m. May 26 and 2:30 a.m. May 27 in the 700 block of Euclid Avenue. A wallet containing credit and debit cards reportedly was stolen from one of the vehicles.

Contributing to delinquency of a minor

Abel Rodriguez, 26, of the 400 block of West Touhy Avenue, Des Plaines, was charged at 9:25 p.m. May 22 with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug equipment and unlawful delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor in the 400 block of North York Street. A first juvenile was charged at the same time and date with theft, unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug equipment and illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor at the same location. A second juvenile was charged at the same time and date with theft, unlawful possession of marijuana and drug equipment possession at the same location. A third juvenile was charged at the same time and date with unlawful possession of marijuana and drug equipment possession at the same location.

Deceptive practice

An incident involving deceptive practice was reported at 11:15 a.m. May 24 as having occurred at 9 a.m. May 1 at C.E. Rentals, 1021 S. Route 83. The offender paid for repair service with a check from a closed checking account.

DUI

• Jose F. Martinez-Berrum, 47, of the 900 block of North Neva Avenue, Addison, was charged at 11:31 p.m. May 21 with driving under influence of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device, failure to signal, improper lane use and transportation of open alcohol at St. Charles Road and Route 83.

• Nereidda Munoz, 32, of the 3500 block of North New England Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 12:21 a.m. May 25 with DUI of alcohol, speeding and improper lane use at North Avenue and Route 83.

• Nicolae Pleas, 51, of the 5300 block of Oakton Street, Skokie, was charged at 1:06 a.m. May 25 with DUI of alcohol and no seat belt at North and Myrtle avenues.

• Anthony Cordero, 21, of the 100 block of South Adams Street, Westmont, was charged at 1:07 a.m. May 25 with DUI of drugs, improper turn and improper lane use at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Sreedhar Mullapudi, 42, of the 3100 block of Venard Road, Downers Grove, was charged at 4:54 a.m. May 25 with DUI of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at Route 83 and Riverside Drive.

• Aaron Gilbert, 29, of the 2800 block of Pearl Avenue, Melrose Park, was charged at 9:42 a.m. May 25 with DUI of drugs and improper lane use at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Gregory Graham, 47, of the 3200 block of West Pierce Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 3:56 a.m. May 27 with DUI of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, speeding and improper lane use at North Avenue and Willow Road. Shannon L. Lawson, 45, of the 3200 block of West Pierce Avenue, Chicago, was cited at the same time and date with unlawful possession of marijuana at the same location.

Forgery

• An incident involving forgery reportedly occurred at 5:11 p.m. May 21 at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert T. Palmer Drive. A woman reportedly was trying to obtain prescription medication using fraudulent forms.

• An incident involving forgery reportedly occurred between noon May 21 and noon May 22 at Brandenburg Industrial Service Company, 501 W. Lake St. Four fraudulent checks reportedly were cashed at an unknown location by an unknown person.

Identity theft

An incident involving identity theft was reported at 3:11 p.m. May 18 in the 300 block of South Arlington Avenue.

Lost property

• An Illinois state ID card reportedly was lost between noon and 5 p.m. May 21 at Eldridge Park, 363 W. Commonwealth Lane.

• An Illinois driver's license reportedly was lost between 10:30 a.m. May 24 and noon May 25 in the 200 block of Grace Avenue.

• A wedding band was reported lost at 8:10 p.m. May 25 in the 100 block of West Park Avenue.

• An Illinois driver's license, credit card and health insurance card were reported lost at 9:17 p.m. May 25 at the Elmhurst Police Department, 125 E. First St.

• An Illinois driver's license reportedly was lost at noon May 26 at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave.

• A rear Illinois license plate was reported lost at 7 p.m. May 28 in the 900 block of South Riverside Drive.

Marijuana possession

• Ahmad M. Hamdan, 19, of the 4800 block of West Addison Street, Chicago, was charged at 12:10 a.m. May 22 with unlawful possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, consumption of alcohol by a minor, zero tolerance and improper lane use at North Avenue and Interstate 290. A juvenile was cited at the same time and date with curfew violation and consumption of alcohol by a minor at the same location.

Massaging without license

Pihua Wu, 61, of the 400 block of East Adams Street, Elmhurst, was charged at 5:31 p.m. May 21 with massaging without a license at Foot Heaven Massage, 595 N. York St.

Mischievous conduct

An incident involving mischevious conduct was reported at 1:21 p.m. May 24 at the Addison Parking Garage, 149 N. Addison Ave. Six people reportedly were jumping in the elevator and got the elevator stuck. The Elmhurst Fire Department was unable to reset the elevator and contacted a repair company.

Property damage

• Daniel Rohde, 27, of the 1300 block of Marengo Avenue, Forest Park, was charged at 10:06 a.m. May 21 with criminal damage to property in the 500 block of North Emroy Avenue.

• Graffiti was reported at 7:31 a.m. May 24 in the 100 block of South Robert T. Palmer Drive.

• Two large scratches reportedly were marked on a vehicle between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. May 24 at The Silverado Grill, 447 S. Spring Road.

• The front chrome ornament of the hood of a vehicle reportedly was broken off the hood and left lying on the hood of a vehicle, along with a napkin with the written message of "Learn how to park" between noon and 1 p.m. May 27 at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert T. Palmer Drive.

• The front passenger window of a Jeep Compass reportedly was broken out between 12:01 and 10:30 a.m. May 28 while it was parked in a driveway in the 600 block of West Belden Avenue.

Theft

• A glass-carrying rack reportedly was stolen between 2 p.m. May 20 and 6:30 a.m. May 21 at Glass.com, 910 S. Riverside Drive.

• Instructions and an email for a wire transfer were found to be fictitious in an incident that reportedly occurred at 9:15 a.m. May 21 in the 700 block of South Hawthorne Avenue.

Liquorwas reported stolen at 10:52 a.m. May 22 at Jewel-Osco, 944 S. York St.

• Four tires and rims reportedly were stolen between 9 p.m. May 23 and 12:30 p.m. May 24 from a Honda CR-V that was parked on the dealer's lot at Grand Honda, 300 W. Grand Ave.

• An attempted retail theft was reported at 12:24 p.m. May 25 at Walgreens, 160 N. Robert T. Palmer Drive. A man reportedly stole toothbrushes and toothbrush appliances off a shelf and put them in his backpack. Following a confrontation, the offender then removed the items and placed them back on the shelf and then fled the store.

• Twelve company checks reportedly were stolen at noon May 25 from a desk drawer at Plastics Marketing, 747 Church Road.

• A cellphone was reported stolen at 4:06 p.m. May 25 in the 300 block of South West Avenue.

• A box containing a new paper shredder was reported at noon May 25 as having been stolen at noon May 6 in the 200 block of West Lake Street.

• A theft of services was reported at 12:19 p.m. May 26 as having occurred at 10:08 p.m. May 23 at Auto Pros Repair Center, 556 W. Lake St.

Suspicious circumstances

• A man driving a black minivan reportedly asked a female student if she needed a ride at 3:09 p.m. May 23 at Churchville Middle School, 155 Victory Pkwy.

• An incident involving suspicious circumstances reportedly occurred at 9:15 a.m. May 25 at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave. The victim reportedly received an email allowing her to apply for employment through a shopping program. She entered the required information in the link provided and received a package with a check, along with a letter asking the victim to cash the check and purchase an Apple gift card. The victim did not cash the check, and there was no money loss.

Underage drinking

Jenna J. Vogt, 20, of the zero to 100 block of Braeman Drive, Valparaiso, Ind., was cited at 1:39 a.m. May 27 with possession of alcohol by a minor and consumption of alcohol by a minor at York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. Thomas R. Vogt, 19, of the 400 block of Parkside Avenue, Elmhurst, was cited at the same time and date with consumption of alcohol by a minor at the same location.

Unlawful use of weapon

A juvenile was cited at 12:55 p.m. May 21 with unlawful use of weapon at York Community High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. The juvenile was found to have a fully functional electric stun gun in her backpack.

Traffic violation

• Gilbert Lopez, 32, of the 3800 block of North 25th Avenue, Schiller Park, was charged at 12:06 a.m. May 24 with aggravated driving while license revoked at North and Melrose avenues.

• Jonathan Clark, 29, of the 9900 block of South Exchange Avenue, Chicago, was cited at 11:21 p.m. May 11 with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to signal at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Marcos Cabrajal, 26, of the 600 block of North Avers Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 1:25 p.m. May 11 with no valid driver's license and speeding at North and Maple avenues.

• Rosalba Juarez, 30, of the 3100 block of Derrough Avenue, Melrose Park, was cited at 4:35 p.m. May 11 with driving while license suspended at Commonwealth Lane and Butterfield Road.

• Jose Castaneda, 50, of the 2100 block of South 50th Avenue, Cicero, was cited at 1:49 a.m. May 12 with driving while license suspended at Lake and Walnut streets.

• Charles A. Moore, 32, of the 7200 block of Winthrop Way, Downers Grove, was cited at 2:19 a.m. May 12 with driving while license suspended at Lake and Walnut streets.

• Jenri Y. Carrillo-Lopez, 23, of the 200 block of Oak Street, Addison, was charged at 11:24 p.m. May 12 with no valid driver's license and leaving the scene of an accident at Lake Street Frontage Road and Howard Avenue.

• Michaelene M. Olguin-Rivera, 53, of the 5500 block of West Cornelia Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 2:36 a.m. May 13 with driving while license suspended and improper lane use at Grand Avenue and Lake Street.

• Jacqueline Mendoza, 23, of the 1900 block of South Cicero Avenue, Cicero, was charged at 8:59 a.m. May 13 with driving while license suspended, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at Grand Avenue and Lake Street.

• Shannon Sullivan, 28, of the 2100 block of South First Avenue, Maywood, was charged at 12:09 a.m. May 15 with driving while license suspended and one headlight at West Avenue and St. Charles Road.

• Deborah Dickerson, 27, of the 12000 block of South Stewart Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 5:16 p.m. May 15 with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration at York Street and Butterfield Road.

• Mickiel Smith, 20, of the 1300 block of North Mayfield Avenue, Chicago; Alejandro Pena, 19, of the 5300 block of South Mayfield Avenue, Chicago; Jonathan Blancas, 20, of the 7000 block of 40th Place, Stickney; and Ivan Mendez, 23, of the 10900 block of South Ridgeland Avenue, Worth, were cited at 11:32 p.m. May 17 with street racing at 600 N. County Line Road.

Adrian Dawson, 39, of the 3100 block of West 84th Place, Chicago, was cited at 2:15 p.m. May 18 with failure to leave information after striking an unattended vehicle at Elmhurst College, 190 S. Prospect Ave.

• Tony Habler, 37, of the 400 block of North Jackson Boulevard, Hillside, was charged at 9:10 p.m. May 18 with driving while license suspended and failure to signal at York and Lake streets.

• Patrick Miller, 24, of the 1700 block of North Mango Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 2:58 a.m. May 19 with one headlight, improper lane use and drving while license revoked at North and Highland avenues.

• Nicolas Castanon-Mende, 28, of the 300 block of Hawthorne Circle, Mount Prospect, was charged at 12:18 a.m. May 20 with no valid registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license revoked at Route 83 and North Avenue.

• Mishelle E. Jimenez, 34, of the 900 block of North Lawndale Avenue, Chicago, was charged at 12:37 a.m. May 20 with driving while license suspended and improper lane use at York Street and North Avenue.

• William Bast II, 27, of the 400 block of North River Glen Avenue, Elmhurst, was charged at 7:23 p.m. May 20 with driving while license suspended in the 200 block of North York Street.

• Janet E. Plonka, 27, of the 22W300 block of Second Street, Glen Ellyn, was charged at 12:07 a.m. May 22 with operating a motor vehicle while using an electronic communication device and driving while license suspended at Route 83 and North Avenue.

• Gary D. Scott, 24, of the 600 block of Belinder Lane, Schaumburg, was cited at 6:15 p.m. May 22 with no valid driver's license at Route 83 and Interstate 290.

• Julio Garcia-Hueramo, 27, of the 400 block of Park Street, Bensenville, was charged at 3:42 a.m. May 23 with driving while license suspended and one headlight at York Road and Grand Avenue.

• Vincent S. Thompson, 29, of the 1000 block of South Westmore Avenue, Lombard, was charged at 6:08 a.m. May 23 with driving while license suspended and failure to yield at a stop intersection at South Riverside Drive and West Monroe Street.

• Lucy Streeter, 64, of the 600 block of Bellwood Avenue, Bellwood, was charged at 7:45 a.m. May 23 with no valid driver's license and released on an I-Bond in the 500 block of West St. Charles Road.

• Brian Kmiotek, 19, of the 7900 block of West Strong Street, Norridge, was charged at 9 p.m. May 23 with driving while license suspended, no insurance and failure to yield turning left at Schiller Street and Commerce Avenue.

• Adrian Cruz, 18, of the 1000 block of Hillside Drive, Bensenville, was charged at 11:17 p.m. May 24 with driving while license suspended, speeding and use of a cellphone while driving at Route 83 and Lake Street.

• Adrian Alatorre, 19, of the 21W200 block of Coronet Road, Lombard, was charged at 12:53 a.m. May 25 with driving while license suspended, speeding and operating an uninsured motor vehicle at Route 83 and St. Charles Road.

• Dalia Leyva-Malaga, 34, of the 2400 block of South 12th Avenue, Broadview, was charged at 3:53 p.m. May 25 with no valid driver's license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle in the 100 block of South Route 83.
