Unnecessary code changes
In the [May 16 through 18] edition of the paper, somebody wrote in to Sound Off about the development in Downers Grove and the taller buildings in the downtown and referenced people "griping" about the change in the village and the new buildings. I think my personal gripe is the fact that the Village Council at a time of high demand where developers wanted to build in Downers Grove, they relaxed our building code to allow these large, wood buildings, simply as a cost differential for the developers in an effort to spur development. However, we did not need to change that in order to gain these buildings, as Downers Grove is now a desired destination for building, and it's because of the fact they we're so desirable that we should not be compromising our building codes in a way that could lead to very large fires that could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to strike out at a later time.
This is to the parents whose children are committing mass murders in our high schools and grammar schools. Check into your children's lifestyle. There is such a thing called "digital heroin." It's a terrible addiction, which affects the brain of our children and our youth. This is probably the reason why so many kids are going off the rails and wanting to kill. Killing on the games isn't fun anymore; they want to feel what it's like to kill a real person. Our government needs to step and do something seriously and quickly to alleviate and cure these children of these addictions of heroin digital.
Cost of health care
NBC broadcasted that an organization is giving "illegals" free health care? Ummm. Free is a tax issue. I/we should not be paying for those here illegally. My suggestion is go back to your country and enter legally, then get the forced "Obamacare" we have to pay for like a citizen. Knowing the cost of this Obamacare, most of you will stay home. But you want to use our system. You should be a legal citizen and suffer our health care costs.
