An Elmhurst bar and grill and a Hinsdale golf course reportedly failed an underage drinking compliance check conducted in July by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission in conjunction with the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
Galway Inn, 12045 Roosevelt Road, Elmhurst, and Meadowlark Golf Course, 11599 W. 31st St., Hinsdale, were among six establishments that failed the compliance checks conducted July 25 in DuPage and Cook counties, according to a news release from the commission.
The compliance report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by agents of the commission, local law enforcement officials and underage participants recruited from area high schools and colleges, the release stated.
The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to people younger than 21, according to the release. Commission agents also work with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities with a high incidence of underage liquor sales, the release stated.
