ELMHURST – A man reportedly robbed the Burger King at 620 W. North Ave. in Elmhurst at gunpoint at 5:36 a.m. Aug. 7.
After the man, who was wearing a "Scream" mask and carrying a pistol, came into the restaurant and demanded all the money from the registers and safe, a Burger King employee emptied several registers and put the money in a black backpack, according to Elmhurst Police Department reports.
The man then fled through the east door, and the area was unsuccessfully searched for the offender, reports stated.
About $200 was lost in the robbery, and the employee was not harmed, according to reports.
The man reportedly was wearing black gym shoes with a white Nike symbol, khaki cargo pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, yellow gloves and a black backpack, in addition to the mask, reports stated.
