DOWNERS GROVE – A pedestrian reportedly was struck and killed by a train at about 1 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Forest Avenue railroad crossing in Downers Grove, according to a Downers Grove Police Department news release.
The individual reportedly walked onto the railroad tracks near Forest Avenue and was struck by an eastbound Metra train, according to a preliminary investigation. The individual was pronounced dead at the scene, the release stated.
The investigation is ongoing. The Police Department is not releasing any additional information, pending identification of the subject, according to the release.
