ABOUT: The Friendly Music Community's first annual outdoor fest will star the Yellowhammers, Yarn, Waco Brothers, Bendita, Cannonball, Hayes Carll (shown) and Cathy Richardson. The venue encompasses a bar called the Friendly Tap, where live, local music is offered four to five nights a week; the Friendly Coffee Lounge; and the Friendly School of Folk Music, a nonprofit with local musicians as instructors.

ABOUT: The La Grange Carnival includes music, a beer and wine tent, and food from local establishments, according to the La Grange Business Association. The La Grange Pet Parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. June 1 from Cossitt Avenue and La Grange Road, organized by Pet Parade Charities. Afterward, Dunk-a-Cop will raise funds for the Pet Rescue and Resource Center/Hinsdale Humane Society.

ABOUT: "Disney’s Beauty and the Beast" will be presented by Stage Door Fine Arts, celebrating its 10th anniversary. "Audiences are in for smiles, laughs and great memories with 'Beauty and the Beast,'" Artistic Director Don Smith stated. The family musical performed by young actors is based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature. The season continues with summer shows including "Mamma Mia!" from June 13 to 16. Summer camps also are offered.
