A Bolingbrook man was arrested this week on charges of manufacturing or delivering a cocaine-like substance and the unlawful possession of ammunition, according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court.
Hugo Salas, 27, of the 1400 block of Comanche Drive was arrested and subsequently booked into the Will County jail shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.
Bond for Salas was set at $500,000.
Salas needs to to post 10% of that amount – $50,000 – for his release from the county jail.
A Will County judge issued an order on Wednesday for Salas to submit to drug testing if he manages to make bond and is released from jail.
Salas is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 5.
Joliet police arrest records show Salas was taken into custody about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Lily Cache Lane and Blackfoot Drive in Bolingbrook.
Joliet police Sgt. Christopher Botzum didn’t respond Thursday to phone and email messages requesting additional information about Salas’ charges and the circumstances of his Tuesday night arrest in Bolingbrook.
