A 21-year-old Bolingbrook man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old last month.

Anthony S. Hite Jr. was charged Wednesday in the Aug. 24 death of Brandon L. Kines, Bolingbrook police Lt. Anthony Columbus said.

Police found Kines on the street in front of his home in the 300 block of Ottawa Drive with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

Police said the incident appeared to be a targeted and isolated shooting.

This same residence was the scene of a shooting in October 2018, police said. An unknown person fired four rounds into the home. No one was injured in that gun attack.

Before officers and paramedics arrived Aug. 24 at Ottawa Drive, a person was seen running away from the scene, police said. Kines was found with gunshot wounds and taken to a hospital, where he died, police said.

After an extensive investigation and consultation with the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, Hite was charged with first-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Hite was booked into the Will County jail Wednesday evening. His bond is set at $5 million.

Court records show Hite previously faced various traffic offenses.

He was due in court Thursday morning.
