Adolf Funeral Services helps grieving families cope with loss

Losing a loved one is full of sadness, no matter the circumstances.  In addition, mourners may experience denial, confusion, anger, despair, and feelings of guilt as they grieve their loss.  This stressful period is a natural response, and understanding how to cope with the loss is vital to one’s mental health.

At Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, the staff understands what family and friends of the deceased are experiencing.  Over twenty years ago, Adolf hired a professional counseling company to conduct grief counseling for their clients.  “We believe in providing full service care,” said John Adolf, Director of Adolf Funeral Services.  “We consider it an investment in our profession to provide additional care for the family after a funeral.”

Adolf was one of the first, and is certainly one of the few, companies to provide this service.  “We offer qualified psychologists trained in grief counseling once a month in the evening for an hour at each of our two locations,” added Adolf.  “Counselors will follow up with families and meet in private, if they wish.  Clients can attend unlimited meetings at no charge; it’s part of the service we provide.”

Adolf Funeral Services also holds an annual Candlelight Remembrance Service each December.  “We go back four or five years and send personal invitations to our customers,” said Adolf.  “It became so popular, we now hold two separate services, one at each location.  You never lose the memory of a loved one, and we want to keep celebrating their lives.”

Adolf Funeral Services offers keepsakes to those who attend the service.  “We provide beautiful ceramic ornaments with angels and stars, and a ribbon for hanging on a Christmas tree or in a window,” added Adolf.  “It helps lessen the grief when people have remembrance items to hold on to.”  For more information about grief counseling services, please contact:
