Veneers Can Make You Smile!

SPONSORED

If you're concerned about your smile, and are looking for a solution to make it more beautiful, consider getting veneers. Dental veneers are thin porcelain shells that are customized to fit right onto your existing teeth. They're matched to your natural or desired tooth color, and are stain-resistant. Veneers can help straighten and reshape the appearance of teeth, and can even strengthen natural teeth.

Veneers are permanently bonded to your teeth. They are frequently used to treat chipped, broken, or discolored teeth, and can give a more balanced appearance to teeth that are smaller than average. Some patients get just one veneer to make a small repair on one tooth, but others have up to eight applied to create a more symmetrical smile. The top front eight teeth are the ones that are most commonly improved with veneers.

Veneers are different from implants and crowns. While crowns encase the entire tooth, and an implant replaces a tooth, veneers just cover the front surface of the tooth.

If you choose to get veneers, your dentist will have to grind down the surface of the tooth a bit to allow for proper placement of the veneer. The results will make you smile; veneers can hide gaps between teeth and can fix pointed or unusually-shaped teeth. They can adjust the whiteness of your smile if you have uneven coloring or severe discoloration that can't be improved with a whitening procedure.

Once your veneers are applied, you're able to eat foods like you would normally. Your veneers should last between 10-15 years, and there are things you can do to prolong their beauty and strength. Avoid chewing on hard candies, don't open packages with your teeth, and try to chew with your back teeth whenever possible. Wear a mouth guard if you play sports.
