DuPage County reports 45 new cases of COVID-19

DuPage County saw 45 new cases of COVID-19, the DuPage County Health Department said Thursday, bringing the total to 448.

Of the 75 outbreak-associated cases among DuPage County residents, 41 cases, including six deaths, are attributed to the Willowbrook long-term care facility, 16 cases are attributed to six other long-term care facilities and 18 cases are attributed to eighth outbreaks from other congregate settings or large gatherings, the news release stated.

The county has reported 13 deaths related to COVID-19.

Illinois reported 16 more deaths and announced 715 new cases of COVID-19, the Illinois Department of Public Health said Thursday.

In total, 157 people in Illinois have died and 7,695 people have tested positive for the virus.

According to the IDPH, the state has tested 43,656 people.

Chicago has 3,279 confirmed cases of COVID-19, while the rest of Cook County has 2,296 cases.

Lake County has 540, Will 384, Kane 154, McHenry 81, Kendall 36, DeKalb 16, La Salle and Whiteside six, Grundy five, Carroll four, Bureau two and Ogle one.
